Reflecting on 2011...

by Linda Klingel on 12/12/11

Hello Friends,

Can you believe it? We are almost at the end of another year! With just a few days left of 2011, I find myself reflecting over the last 12 months. This has been a very busy and challenging, yet productive and exciting year for me in many ways.

We began the year by airing our very first television program of "A Word In Season" on WLCF TV45 in Decatur on January 2nd. Shortly afterward, the AT&T U-verse cable company began carrying the station, expanding the viewing audience to the Central Illinois area with a potential of almost 400,000 viewers.

My vision is quite large for tv ministry but I have learned to not despise the days of small beginnings. There has been much to learn and I have definitely been stretched! Although the stretching may be uncomfortable, we have to remember that it's what God uses to increase us and expand our capacity so that we can accomodate the vision as it begins to grow. So, it's a good thing!

Also in January, I made my 5th trip to India with some really great team members from my Crossroads Bible Church family and Only Believe Ministries. I particularly enjoy ministering in the Pastor's Conference each year as well as the open air meetings in the fishing villages. As always, it was a great trip and I'm looking forward to going again next month. The India team and I am believing for many more lives to be touched and blessed this next trip, so your prayers would be very much appreciated!

Although there have been some wonderful ministry opportunities this past year, I must say that there have been some challenges as well. I'm reminded of the words that Paul spoke in 1 Corinthians 16:9, "For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries." In other words, when God opens great and effective doors of ministry for us, we shouldn't be surprised when there is opposition and adversity. Satan will always oppose what he is threatened by, so be aware, but never let it stop you from fulfilling your assignment. We must never forget, the Greater One is within us and His grace is always sufficient- no matter what the situation or circumstance!

In preparing to exit 2011, it occured to me that the number 11 is really an odd number. The number 10 represents divine order and the number 12 represents governmental perfection. When I looked up the number 11 the other day, I discovered that it actually represents disorder, disorganization, imperfection, incompleteness, etc. One meaning said it represents disorder and judgement.

Wow... that spoke to me that this past year of 2011 has been a year of transition. A year of feeling out of sorts in many ways. I think a lot of us can relate to that! Transition means you're not where you used to be but you're not where you're going either.

So, I believe that as we exit this year, if we will seek the guidance and direction of the Lord, He will instruct us. Then, as we make the necessary adjustments, we will enter into that new season of "governmental perfection". Things will begin to fall into place and we will begin to "fit" into the places that God has prepared for each of us. The Spirit of God will rule and reign in us... AND through us!

Hmm, the Govenment of God... I'm thinking it's gonna be a very good year, but more about all that later! In the meantime....

From my heart to yours,                                                                                      Blessings to you and yours and a very Merry CHRISTmas!!!

Linda :)

Destined To Reign Women's Conference

by Linda Klingel on 11/03/11

Hello Friends!

After recently hosting our annual women's conference, I'm so thankful for the opportunity that Leigh Gray and I had to minister to the hearts of women throughout our region. The message on God's heart for the event was that we are His modern day Esthers and that we are Destined To Reign...for such a time as this! The theme of the conference was based on the familiar verse in Esther 4:14. Here's how it reads in the New Living Translation,

"Who knows if perhaps you made queen for such a time as this."

As God's "queens", we have each been called to various realms of influence all throughout society- in our homes, workplaces, churches, etc. and we will ultimately touch the lives of many.

In our first two sessions at the conference we learned that, just like Esther, God will first take the time to prepare us before He promotes and positions us for His Kingdom purposes to be fulfilled. During this time, much favor and grace will be available to us as we submit our lives to the Word of God and co-operate with the Holy Spirit in the preparation process.

At the last session, all the ladies were "Crowned and Commissioned" as each one was presented with a beautiful tiara bracelet and a scroll with the following poem written on it, as a public acknowledgement and declaration of who God has called them to be...for such a time as this.

I'd like to dedicate this poem to all of you, my fellow Queens, that will 'happen' to read this- I pray it blesses you.

~Linda

Destined To Reign

I've come to the Kingom, for such is the time                                                          For all of the Queens to arise and to shine.

With crown on my head and scepter in hand,                                                             For Jesus, my King, I will fearlessly stand.

In royal robes of great majesty,                                                                                I will now take my place of authority.

For this is the day, this is the hour                                                                             To rule with Kingdom dominion and power.

I'll fast and I'll pray; I'll seek my King's face                                                            And He will extend to me favor and grace.

To accomplish His purpose, promote His great plan                                               To save many people throughout all the land.

I'll boldly proclaim and I will decree;                                                                       The words that I speak are what shall come to be.

I will not turn back- no, I will not fear;                                                                       The mission before me is made very clear.

I'm DESTINED TO REIGN and soon all will see                                                      So, on this day I acknowledge, that I AM A QUEEN."

Running The Race

by Linda Klingel on 07/27/10

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:1-2

Hello Friends,

It's been a while since my last entry so I thought I'd share with you a portion of a message that I recently preached. I pray that it will be an encouragement to you as you continue to run the race called faith!

We can see from our text that the author compares our life of faith as unto a long term race. It's not a sprint but more like a marathon because it's all about endurance. We can all receive encouragement as we meditate on the fact that many before us have already ran their race and have successfully crossed over to the other side. If they could do it, we can too. One important key to our success is simply to travel light. We must get rid of weights and the sin that keeps hindering us.

Weights can come in many different packages. It could be a relationship or a hobby; maybe it's a habit or a  negative attitude. And then there's that "besetting" sin. You know, that one sin that "be setting" you back time and time again!

So, how do we lay those weights and sins aside?

1) We choose to   2) We look unto Jesus

Once we make the decision, God empowers that decision with something called Grace. Many times deliverance doesn't come and we continue to struggle simply because we are trying too hard to change ourselves. I believe it's time to stop trying and start trusting! We are to look unto Jesus. He is the Author and the Finisher of our faith. He's not going to leave us hanging somewhere in the middle trying to work things out for ourselves. Hallelujah!

As I took a closer look at the word "race" I found some interesting information. It is only used two times in the New Testament. In addition to our text in Hebrews, it is used in 1 Corinthians 9:24,

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

The Greek word here for race is stadion. It actually means a race course for Olympic runners and it is where we get our English word for stadium. However, the Greek word for race in Hebrews 12:1 was agon. It means an assembly, the assembly of the Greeks at their national games but it is also where we get our English word for agony or agonizing.

This word agon is used five other times elsewhere in the New Testament but only once is it translated race. It is also translated two times as conflict, two times as fight, and one time as contention. In 1 Timothy 6:12 and in 2 Timothy 4:7, the Apostle Paul is speaking to Timothy, his son in the faith, encourag ing him to "fight the good fight of faith" and then near the end of his life, he said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." The word fight in each of these verses is that same word agon.

Although at times the race can seem to be more of an agony than a pleasure, we must have the determination to keep on running if we are to cross the finish line. In the eleventh chapter of Hebrews we read about all the heros of faith and the difficult situations and circumstances they encountered. Have you noticed that while sometimes their faith brought them out of hard situations, oftentimes it brought them through them. The same is true for us today!

When Jesus was going through the most difficult time in His life- the crucifixion- He did not focus on the cross but on the joy that awaited Him on the other side. When going through difficult times we must do the same, for great victory awaits us, too!

You may  feel like you have been running through some rough places that have left you weary and exhausted, wondering if you will be able to endure much longer, but I want you to know, if you will press past your feelings and determine in your heart to not give up...you will make it!

In a natural race, when a runner feels he is at the point of exhaustion and that he cannot go any farther, if he pushes himself past the point of pain and exhaustion and refuses to quit, he will catch his "second wind" and find that he has a new surge of energy to carry him forward.

To those of you who may be struggling, I pray for the "Second Wind"- the Holy Spirit to begin to blow upon you even now.  As an act of faith, right where you are, just relax, close your eyes, breathe in deeply, and allow Him to bring a refreshing to your spirit, your soul, and your body.  Allow Him to strengthen you and you will finish your course with endurance and great joy!

In Him,                                                                                                                      Linda

Arise and Shine

by Linda Klingel on 04/07/10

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.  Isaiah 60:1

Hello Friends,

Well, I've decided to dedicate my very first blog to all my sister friends out there. Of course, my brothers, you are welcome to read and comment as well. Actually, we need you and your support if we are going to be all that Papa has called us to be. We have no desire to take your place but to stand with you, back to back, with a sword  in one hand and a reaping hook in the other. We are living in times where God has been preparing and equipping His sons and His daughters to engage in the battle of the ages and bring in the greatest harvest there has ever been. What an exciting time to be alive in Christ! (Pardon me while I shout, "Hallelujah!")

Sisters, for too long we have allowed the enemy to prevent us from rising up and taking our place. I don't know what your particular issue is but I do know that if you will determine in your heart that you will fulfill your God given purpose, no devil in hell and no man on earth will be able to stop you. Ladies, we serve a God who is faithful to us and who is faithful to His Word.

In Luke 13:10-13 we read :

Now He [Jesus] was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.
But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity."
And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

This particular woman was a daughter of Abraham. Although she had a covenant with God and attended religious services, she certainly wasn't walking in her covenant rights and privileges concerning healing and deliverance. Sad to say, the same is true today for many of the daughters of God. Just as the devil (a spirit of infirmity) had infused her spine and kept her bent over for eighteen long years, the devil has kept many women in the church bent over for years, unable to rise up and demonstrate the glory of God in their lives.

This word "infirmity" simply means weakness, frailty, feebleness of health in body or soul. Whatever your infirmity is and however long you've had it, it is no match for the delivering power of Jesus Christ. He truly is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Jesus is still doing today what he did those many years ago... so by faith, receive His touch in your life today, in soul and/or in body and be loosed from your infirmity!

A few months ago as I was preparing for a women's conference, I sat down at my computer and began to type the words of a prophetic poem as the Lord gave it to me to share, from His heart to His daughters. As you read these words today and the following poem, I pray that you will receive His Word into your spirit and that you will "Arise and Shine" in this awesome season of your life!

Arise and Shine

Arise and shine O Daughters of Mine
For this is your season, this is your time.

I've called and I've chosen each of you by name
To shine forth My glory, My name to proclaim.

In home and in workplace, in church and abroad
You'll stand in My power for I am your God.

Be filled with My Spirit, refreshed and made new
You've yet to behold what I'll do through you.

Great signs and wonders, miracles too
There are no limits to what I will do.

So bring Me your burdens, release every care
You've held on to things you weren't meant to bear.

Today My anointing is setting you free
To be everything I've called you to be.

So arise and shine, O Daughters of Mine
For this is your season, yes this is your time.

In Him,
Linda
